Time and Temperature Zone Control TTZZ
Time and Temperature Zone Control (TTZZ) refers to heating systems that allow for the independent programming of both the time of heating and the temperature in different areas or zones of a building. This can both help improve comfort levels and help improve energy efficiency of the system.
Such systems work by using multiple thermostats or smart thermostatic radiator valves (TRVs) to control separate heating circuits or zones, allowing energy to be focussed on areas in use. This is different from now relatively rare single-zone heating systems, which effectively use just a single thermostat to control the entire space heating for a building. These systems may also compensation boiler control also know as weather compensation, including an external sensor allowing it to compensate for external temperatures to improve efficiency.
With the onset of the Internet of Things (IoT) and smart technology many of these systems can now be wifi controlled, meaning they can be controlled and monitored remotely from a smart phone or laptop.
